Mức độ đau mỏi vai gáy ở nhân viên văn phòng sử dụng máy vi tính và một số yếu tố nghề nghiệp liên quan (Level of self-reported neck pain and disability and the association with work-related factors among office workers using computer)
English abstract
This cross-sectional survey was conducted to determine the level of neck pain and disability; and to explore the work-related factors associated with the Neck Disability Index (NDI) score among office workers using computer in Hanoi city.
316 participants from 5 big offices completed the self-reported questionnaires. Multiple univariate ANCOVAs were performed to identify risk factors related to the severity of neck pain with adjustments for confounders. Workers reported no pain (23.1%), mild (64.6%), moderate (11.7%) and severe (0.6%) pain in the neck. The mean NDI score of the whole sample was 17.2, and increased in the group of workers with neck pain (21.1). Factors associated with the higher NDI score included the condition of chair without thigh support, workstation sharing and perceived workstation comfort. In order to prevent neck pain, office workers should choose suitable chair and table to have an appropriate posture and reduce the amount of time working continuously with computer.
