Trên Thế giới, lịch sử phát triển Y tế Công Cộng (YTCC) được tính từ khi Edward Lister phát hiện ra cách chủng ngừa bệnh đậu mùa vào năm 1976, phát minh đã giúp cho sự khống chế thành công bệnh dịch nguy hiểm này trên phạm vi toàn Thế giới. Như vậy, tuy được ra đời trên Thế giới đã hơn 200 năm, YTCC hiện vẫn được coi là một ngành khoa học trẻ tại Việt Nam. Bài viết này sẽ giúp các bạn có thêm được những thông tin cụ thể hơn về các chức năng và nhiệm vụ của YTCC, trả lời cho câu hỏi “Tại sao khoa học YTCC lại có vai trò quan trọng trong sự nghiệp nâng cao sức khỏe cộng đồng?”
English abstract
Public Health's development history (PH) in the world could be traced back as far as 1796 when Edward Lister invented the way for Variola vaccinnation, which greatly contributed to the successful control of this dangerous disease all over the world. Despite the fact that Public Health has come into existence for over 200 years now, it is still considered as a new scientific branch in Viet Nam. It is hoped that this article could provide the reader with more specific information on Public Health's functions and tasks, responding to the question "Why does Public Health Science play an important role in the cause of health improvement for the public?"
