Vào tháng 12/2000, Liên hợp quốc thông qua mục tiêu phát triển thiên niên kỷ (Millenium development goals) trong đó đề ra mục tiêu giảm 1/3 ỷ lệ trẻ suy dinh dưỡng (SDD) vào năm 2015 so với năm 1990. Đây là một mục tiêu tham vọng vì giảm SDD liên quan tới đói nghèo và nhiều vấn đề xã hội khác. Tuy nhiên, chúng ta có thể tiếp cận được mục tiêu trong vòng 10 năm tới nếu áp dụng một chiến lược thích hợp trên cơ sở kết hợp chặt chẽ giữa các giải pháp chuyên môn kỹ thuật với công tác huy động xã hội.

English abstract

In July 2000, the United Nations approved Millenium development goals, which proposed to reduce 1/3 of maternal and child malnutrition by the year 2015 compared with 1990. This is an ambitious goal as reducing maternal and child malnutrition is related to pover- ty and many other social problems. However, we can reach this goal in the next 10 years’ time if we apply an appropriate strategy based on combining technical methods with social mobilization.
